It has been a couple of years since I’ve posted on my blog (doctorcj.com) or my Facebook pages consistently (Caregivers’ Self-care Movement and Wombology).

Here’s the thing, I have been on this new journey, and I feel like I’ve been walking on hot rocks since 2022. I was going to apologize to you for not posting and remembered that Selfcare doesn’t need an apology. However, I will share with you what’s been going on in my life and why I’ve been practicing deep self-care to maintain my spiritual, emotional, energetic, mental, and physical health. You know all those things I teach as your Selfcare Coach.

In the past two years, my whole world has been rearranged. I found myself unprepared to walk through the valley of the shadow of death and darkness, I kept saying, “I’m not ready for this!” But I had to go through that valley three times. On May 05, 2022, I unwillingly took my seat at the widows’ table. My remarkable comedic husband of 50 years passed. On October 04, 2022, my Koolman mellow oldest brother passed. He was my husband’s classmate. On October 18, 2023, my earth angel/Mama passed. Some of you already know when you lose your MOM the world spins differently.

You are NEVER ready!

These are irreplaceable vacancies in my life. As is the loss of my fun-loving gregarious son 14 years ago.  Y’all getting used to a new normal ain’t easy. There is absolutely nothing that can take the place of my loved ones who have crossed over!

I have been lost on so many levels including emotional,  mental, and physical. Grief fat is real. I know it’s okay to be lost as long as I’m trying to find my way home to myself. Two and a half years later, I am ready to find something that can soften the voids or at least point me in a new or expansive direction. I am learning to appreciate many things I had taken for granted.

It’s time for me to get back to my purpose, my calling, and my soul’s assignment, which is where you come into the mix. My purpose is to be of service to you and the Universe. My calling is to help you fall in love with your current journey, by helping you See the world differently, Be different in the world, and to be Seen differently by the world. And my soul’s assignment is to help you find your way home, by sharing my gifts, tools, and resources.

You are NEVER ready!

However, you and I must continue moving forward because LIFE is too short! I have come to understand that our Loved Ones don’t want us to always be unhappy in their absence or for us to sit around marking time, waiting our turn to die. Oh, HELL NAW, let’s go find what brings us joy, what adds to our personal happiness and serenity so we can still share the goodness of life!
